Just Because it's June!

Hello! Welcome to our newsletter for June - and as we all know, that means Father's Day is approaching.

Why not be different and give him a candle from WoodWick with a fragrance called 'Soft Leather' (in second photo below). With 40 hours burn time for only £4.99 it won't break the bank either.

For a Dad who's musically inclined we have 4D Art's photograph frames that feature a portion of a piano or violin and a semiquaver desk ornament. From Orchid Designs, a magnetic paperclip holder in the shape of a treble clef and a metal bookmark shaped as a beamed quaver;  (See photos above and below)

How about one of the attractive pens from our range of "Autograph" writing instruments (see also the photo at the top of this page)? Priced from £8 up to £40 these rollerball and fountain pens make an ideal gift for any Father who still enjoys the art of writing over e-mail and texts. Why not include a pack of notecards so he can write a 'Thank You' straight away?!

For the man who has everything, what about a box for him to put it in?! Seriously, this handmade lacquered box, with a "tiger skin" design created from egg shell, is both beautiful and practical and could be used to store all sorts of things. It costs £34.95.

Other pieces that would be ideal for the home, study or office include this hand carved, mounted wooden finial; a piece of sculpture, 66cm tall, that could be an interesting talking point. It is also great value at the reduced price of £25. We also have a couple of landscapes of the Western Highlands; giclee prints by artist, Alison Strachan, that would add colour and interest to any wall (see above and in the side bar). Of course, we have a selection of table lamps too, any of which could make a useful addition to a bedside table or next to his favourite armchair!

To be really different, and because we are all young at heart, one of our newly arrived 'Teddies in Tartan' could be the answer! These friendly bears have beautifully handmade outfits, stitched right here in Scotland. "Wallace" (see the table display photo above) wears Royal Stewart tartan. His outfit features the long plaid, a miniature sporran and kilt pin and a leather targe (shield). We also have "Dougie" and "Callum" who you can see with the rest of the gang in the photo below. Come and join the gathering!

While we are in nostalgic mood, we are also glad to have a small number of Shudehill's kaleidoscopes back in stock. These were very popular last year. The barrel is covered in tooled leather and comes in black, brown and red. Any Dad could regain his youth for only £7.50!

So, there you have it; a great selection of gifts suitable for Father's Day or any other occasion and not a tie or pair of socks in sight! And of course, we have plenty of other beautiful things for you, your friends and your home. We look forward to seeing you soon.
